- Animal Control
The City of Orange Animal Control Department operates under the supervision of the Orange Fire Department.
Because the shelter employs only three full-time officers, it sometimes closes without notice so the officers may handle emergency situations. The shelter will reopen once the emergency situation has been resolved. If there is a problem in your area, please call the shelter at 409-883-1056. If there is no answer, please leave a message and the officers will get back to you as soon as possible.
Spaying & Neutering
Texas State Law now requires the shelter to spay/neuter all animals before they leave the shelter. State Law also requires that all animals ages four months or older have a current rabies vaccination administered by a licensed veterinarian.
The total adoption fee for both dogs and cats is $115 and includes neutering/spaying and rabies vaccination.
The rabies vaccination fee is $25.
When an animal is in quarantine, there will be a fee of $95. This fee includes boarding and a rabies vaccination.
The impound fee is $10 per offense, escalating an additional $10 per offense up to a maximum of $30 per offense for multiple offenses involving the same animal within a 12-month period.
